The Vancouver Canucks are 3-0 in their last three games against the Ottawa Senators and 7-3 in the last 10 matchups between them overall as the North Division rivals prepare to hit the ice together for the opener of a two-game series at Canadian Tire Centre on Monday night.
The Canucks are listed as -175 favourites on the NHL odds for Monday night’s contest. The Senators (+155) head into Monday’s matchup as losers of five of their past seven games.

Vancouver had no trouble with Ottawa in the first series of the season between the two teams back in late January, winning those three contests at home by scores of 7-1, 5-1, and 4-1 as clear favourites on the NHL moneyline at sportsbooks each time.
The Canucks then extended that winning streak to four games with a win at Winnipeg, but proceeded to lose 11 of their next 13 contests to slip out of the playoff picture in the North Division. Vancouver, though, enters Monday’s contest having won five of its last seven games, including a slim 2-1 win at home over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night.
Bo Horvat staked the Canucks to a 1-0 lead in Saturday’s game, with Tyler Myers providing the go-ahead goal in the third period to give Vancouver the win as +105 underdogs at sports betting sites. Thatcher Demko stopped 34 of 35 Oilers shots in Saturday night’s victory.
The UNDER has paid off four times in the Canucks’ last five games, and in six of their last eight outings. The consensus OVER/UNDER for Monday’s game is 6.5 goals at sportsbooks.
The Senators will be playing for the second straight night on Monday, after they upset the division-leading Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3 at home on Sunday. Drake Batherson scored twice for Ottawa in that victory, and Joey Daccord made 33 saves on 36 Toronto shots on the night.
Ottawa had sunk further into the North Division basement on the six-game road trip that preceded Sunday’s outing, losing five of six games at Montreal, Calgary, and Edmonton – with the Oilers beating them by a combined 16-5 score in three contests. Monday and Wednesday’s games could give the Canucks’ scorers a chance to pad their season stats.
