Back in December, Vancouver Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau hinted at WWE-themed changes to his new team’s locker room. On Saturday, the nature of those changes became apparent.

Boudreau introduced the “Canucks Championship Belt” after the Canucks’ 3–2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday.

In the locker room following the game, he told his players that the belt would be awarded after every win to an unsung “warrior” or “hero” who made a significant contribution to the victory.

Boudreau made @Juho Lammikko the first recipient of the belt. The 26-year-old Finn scored the winning goal and won 83 percent of his faceoffs against the Leafs.

J.T. Miller and @Brock Boeser also scored for the Canucks in the 3–2 win at Rogers Arena, with @Thatcher Demko making a career-high 51 saves. @Auston Matthews and @Ondrej Kase tallied for the visitors.

The Canucks improved to 22–21–6 with the victory; their 50 points on the season put them five points back of the Anaheim Ducks for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Vancouver will return to action on Feb. 17 against the San Jose Sharks at SAP Arena.
