Vancouver Canucks captain @Bo Horvat made an early exit from his team’s game against the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday evening as a result of a non-COVID illness.
Horvat took his final shift of the game in the last minute of the first period. The Canucks’ captain logged 4:38 (all at even strength) in the opening frame before departing.
Horvat did not record a shot on goal or a hit before leaving the game. The 26-year-old forward went three-for-four in the face-off dot and took seven shifts in the first period.
The Canucks currently trail the Blues 3–2 early in the third period, although both teams were still in search of their first goal when Horvat made his exit. As such, Horvat did not register a point in the game and remains at 44 (26 goals, 18 assists) in 64 appearances this season.
@Alex Chiasson scored just 31 seconds into the middle period to make it a 1–0 game, with @Elias Pettersson also scoring for the Canucks in the second; @Nick Leddy, @Robert Thomas, and Ryan O’Reilly responded to put the Blues up by one goal after 40 minutes.
