The Vancouver Canucks have made what would appear to be their final two moves of the 2026 NHL Trade Deadline, as the club has sent David Kampf to the Washington Capitals, and Lukas Reichel to the Boston Bruins in exchange for sixth round picks.
The Canucks took a flyer on Kampf earlier this season after he and the Toronto Maple Leafs agreed to terminate his previous contract. Kampf signed on as a free agent with the Canucks, and a strong showing at the Olympics with Team Czechia certainly didn’t hurt Kampf’s value ahead of the Trade Deadline. Kampf, 31, has six points through 38 games with the Canucks this season and has been a mainstay on the club’s penalty kill.
As for Reichel, the Canucks sent a fourth-round pick to the Chicago Blackhawks earlier this season to bring in the 23-year-old, who was the 17th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The Canucks’ centre depth was absolutely gutted at the time of the deal, and while the Canucks were utilizing Reichel as their 2C after the trade, it was quickly apparent that he wasn’t going to stay there for very long. Reichel has appeared in 23 games with the Abbotsford Canucks this season, and just 14 with Vancouver, where he tallied one assist.
And so the Canucks’ week during Trade Deadline features the following (not including the Kiefer Sherwood or Quinn Hughes trades from earlier in the season):
Notably, the Canucks did not move off of pending UFAs Evander Kane and Teddy Blueger.
