The Vancouver Canucks could be looking to the university ranks to fill a goaltending void.
Saturday evening, Postmedia’s Patrick Johnson reported the team was looking at options due to “another Covid case.”
And not long after, Rick Dhaliwal reported it “sounds like either Spencer Martin or Mike DiPietro may have tested positive.”
Hearing Canucks are looking at university goalie options as preparation for dealing with another Covid case. If they have to recall Silovs to backup tomorrow they’d need another goalie for Abbotsford. Both NHL and AHL teams are in action tomorrow.

Both Thatcher Demko and Jaroslav Halak are in protocols, and now, it’s looking like another will join them.
Martin had made his NHL debut Friday night against a tough Florida Panthers team posting an impressive .971 save percentage in a 2-1 shootout loss.
