It was on this day in Vancouver Canucks history that Henrik and Daniel Sedin connected for the overtime winner in their final game at Rogers Arena.

On April 5th, 2018, the Sedin twins suited up for their last home game as Canucks on a night that was filled with as much excitement as it was with raw emotion. After falling behind early, Daniel got the on the board in the opening moments of the second period to tie the game up at one apiece. The tie didn’t last long, though, as Coyotes found the back of the net twice in quick succession, ultimately setting up one of the most memorable comebacks in recent memory.

Down by two goals with a period left to play, Vancouver got a couple of timely goals from Jake Virtanen and Brendan Leipsic in the opening half of the frame to tie the game at three per side, sending the Rogers Arena faithful into a frenzy of anticipation. The remainder of the third period solved nothing and the game was sent to overtime where Richard Panik was called for hooking at the 1:16 mark, setting up one of the most memorable finishes we’ve ever seen. And exactly as it was meant to be, Daniel and Henrik combined for the game winner in their last home game as Vancouver Canucks, sending the capacity crowd into hysterics for a moment no one will soon forget.
