On Monday, EA Sports inadvertently published a reveal trailer for NHL 25 on their official YouTube channel, quickly deleting it afterward. The video, which sparked widespread speculation among fans, suggests that brothers Quinn, Jack, and Luke Hughes could be the featured cover athletes for the latest edition of the popular video game franchise.
The leaked trailer, although brief, provides substantial hints that the Hughes brothers might make history as the first trio to be featured together on the cover of an EA Sports NHL game. The video highlights the brothers in motion capture suits, performing hockey drills while discussing their deep-rooted love for the sport. These clips, together with teasers of new gameplay updates and features, build excitement for the upcoming release.
One of the most telling moments in the trailer occurs at its conclusion, where a graphic displaying pre-order information prominently features the Hughes brothers as the main focal point. This detail, coupled with their significant presence throughout the video, has led many to believe that Quinn, Jack, and Luke Hughes are set to be the next cover athletes for NHL 25. While no official announcement has been made by EA Sports, the accidental publication of this trailer has given fans a strong indication of what to expect.
The choice of the Hughes brothers as cover athletes would be fitting, given their status as some of the NHLâs most dynamic and exciting players. Quinn Hughes, the eldest of the trio, is coming off a stellar season in which he won the Norris Trophy as the leagueâs best defenceman. Jack Hughes, the middle brother, has quickly ascended to superstar status, solidifying himself as one of the leagueâs top forwards after being drafted first overall in 2019. Meanwhile, the youngest brother, Luke Hughes, was a finalist for the Calder Trophy, awarded to the NHLâs top rookie, after an impressive debut season.
Despite the lack of official confirmation from EA Sports, the evidence from the leaked video strongly suggests that the Hughes brothers will be the faces of NHL 25. Their inclusion on the cover would not only be a nod to their individual achievements but also a celebration of their collective impact on the league.
