The good news continues to roll in for the Vancouver Canucks&#8217; 2022 first-round pick.
Jonathan Lekkerimäki and his team Djurgården went into Friday&#8217;s game down 3-2 in the best-of-seven series against MoDo. The winning team earns a promotion to the SHL and both teams desperately want to return to Sweden&#8217;s top professional league next season.
Friday&#8217;s game six was a thriller, with Djurgården jumping out to a one-goal lead in the first period before MoDo powered back into the game and took the lead with a goal in each of the second and third periods.
With Lekkerimäki&#8217;s season hanging in the balance of a six-on-five attack, the 18-year-old won possession in the corner and ended up getting a secondary assist on the game-tying goal.

You could just tell that Lekkerimäki was locked in for this game. He was confident that he could make a difference in the game and with that confidence, he swung the odds in Djurgården&#8217;s favour. The Canucks drafted this player for his offensive abilities and his skill through the neutral zone with short passes and quick puck-possessing bursts through the opposition. We are starting to see the confidence come back in his game and this next clip is an example of that.
We didn&#8217;t see him do this very often during the regular season.
