The Vancouver Canucks are just 1-10 in their last 11 games against the Winnipeg Jets. The Canucks snapped a 10-game losing streak to the Jets in their last game against them and hope to pick up another win against Winnipeg on Friday night at home.

The Canucks had everything working in their 5-1 win over the Calgary Flames on Wednesday night. Braden Holtby was excellent in goal stopping 35 of the 36 shots that he faced and Vancouver’s offense finally broke through against its former goaltender with five goals against Jacob Markstrom. J.T. Miller and Bo Horvat both recorded a goal and an assist and the red-hot Brock Boeser picked up a goal and two assists. Boeser’s 12 goals this season are second only to Auston Matthews’ 16 league-wide.
If the Canucks close as betting favourites, it will be just the fourth time this season that they have done so. Vancouver is 3-0 as a favourite this season per the OddsShark NHL Database.
Winnipeg opened its season with a 4-1-0 record helped along by three straight wins against the Ottawa Senators. Since then, the Jets are a modest 5-5-1 over their last 11 games including a 1-2 record on the road over that stretch. But while the Jets have been a bit below average in the defensive zone, they’ve been great on offense ranking seventh in the NHL in goals per game with 3.44. Mark Scheifele leads the team in scoring with eight goals and 14 assists.
Friday night’s total is set at six goals at betting sites. The UNDER is 5-2 in Winnipeg’s last seven games.
The Jets enter Friday’s action with a two-point lead over the Canucks in the standings with four games in hand against them. Winning these next two games at home against the Jets would go a long way in getting Vancouver back into playoff contention.
