On Thursday, October 2nd, the Vancouver Canucks, a world-renowned and celebrated ice hockey franchise that participates in the National Hockey League, dropped a proverbial bombshell on the entire hockey world. In what may end up being the first of many salvos, the Canucks of Vancouver released their official GIF compilation from a select number of players. Victor Mancini, Marcus Pettersson, Evander Kane, Jonathan Lekkerimaki, Elias “D-Petey” Pettersson, Filip Chytil, Kevin Lankinen, Drew O’Connor, and Filip Hronek all threw on their jerseys and adorned us with an array of poses.

Vancouver CanucksAll told, these are pretty silly and entertaining. Some players were far more comfortable than others, but it’s all in good fun. Hronek, in particular, seems far more comfortable being stoic or angry than he is smiling, which is a nice reflection of his play on the ice. Kane and Lankinen give it their all in every GIF. Many of the younger players, such as Elias Pettersson and Lekkerimäki, don’t appear comfortable. However, Mancini is made for the camera. It’s interesting that from just a few short poses, you can get a little glimpse into each player’s personality.
