Another week in the books, and another episode of Nation Network Radio, a presentation of CanucksArmy, was recorded live in the TSN 1040 studios on Saturday night, following the Canucks 2-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Our intrepid hosts, J.D. Burke and Jon Abbott, started off the show by dissecting the Canucks win over the Maple Leafs. It was a night to celebrate Daniel Sedin’s 1000th point from the Canucks win against the Nashville Predators on Thursday night. The Canucks held an emotional pre-game ceremony with a video narrated by Markus Naslund, and Derek Dorsett handed Sedin an award in person. It was a truly touching moment.
At the end of the first hour, The Athletic Vancouver’s Israel Fehr joins the show to talk about the atmosphere in the Canucks locker room and whether he would sign Canucks general manager Jim Benning to a contract extension for next season and beyond.
In the second hour of the show, Abbott and Burke present arguments for and against Benning as the general manager of the Canucks organization for at least next season. And in the fifth segment, CanucksArmy’s own Jeremy Davis joins the show to talk about the Canucks prospect pool and the Utica Comets. Then the listeners join the show in the final segment to make their voices heard.
