Canadiens at Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Carrying the momentum of a 3-1 record at home into their two-game road trip against the San Jose Sharks and the Vegas Golden Knights, the Canucks dropped both games and got outscored 10-5 in the process. Fortunately for Vancouver, each of the team’s next five games will be back at home. Since scoring 23 goals in regulation over their previous five games, the Canucks have scored only six goals in regulation over their last four games. Vancouver has also allowed four or more goals in four of its last five games.
In their last 11 games against teams from the Atlantic Division, the Canucks are 10-1 per the OddsShark NHL Database.
Montreal opened the season with an 11-5-3 record before losing eight straight games to wrap up the month of November. The Canadiens have gone 4-2 over their last six games since that slump, most recently losing 2-1 to the lowly Detroit Red Wings. Carey Price was awful during Montreal’s slump with a 3.77 goals-against average and an .883 save percentage during 11 November starts, but he’s been far better in December with a 1.81 GAA and a .936 save percentage in five starts this month.
Tuesday night’s total is set at six goals at online sports betting sites. The UNDER is 6-0-1 in Montreal’s last seven games.
The Canadiens and the Canucks find themselves in very similar positions in the standings so far in 2019, both entering this game with 36 points as Montreal is 15-12-6 and Vancouver is 16-14-4. Both have fallen out of a playoff spot due to big November slumps, but there is still plenty of time left in the season to recover. Evenly-matched games like this one are games that both of these teams need to start winning though if they hope to turn things around.
