The season is officially under a month away, and it appears the Vancouver Canucks players are back on the ice getting ready for the season.

On Monday, the Canucks shared photos and videos on their social media of players hitting the ice at Rogers Arena.

Players shown in the social posts included Brock Boeser, Zeev Buium, Paul Cotter, Brendan Gallagher, Filip Hronek, Linus Karlsson, Victor Mancini, Drew O’Connor, Liam Öhgren, Jamie Oleksiak, Elias Pettersson (D), Aatu Räty, Max Sasson, Luke Schenn, and Tom Willander. There appeared to be at least two goaltenders on the ice, and our best guess is that Nikita Tolopilo was one of them.

While we can not confirm who wasn’t there, Filip Chytil, Jake DeBrusk, Jonathan Lekkerimäki, Elias Pettersson (F), and Marco Rossi were the only skaters not shown among the social posts. However, all four of the new guys, Brendan Gallagher, Paul Cotter, Luke Schenn, and Jamie Oleksiak, were all in attendance.

Buium spoke with Canucks Rinkside Reporter about having all of the guys back together, and how the new guys are fitting in so far:

“Yeah, it’s great. Obviously we’ve got some new faces. We’re trying to get to know the new guys, and so it’s been a lot of fun. The energy’s really high right now. Everybody’s excited. I love the energy everybody’s bringing every day. I’m just excited to get going.

“I think they’re going to fit in great. Obviously Schenner has been here a lot longer than I have. So, pretty cool to get to know a guy like him. Gally has been awesome obviously, and getting to know Oleksiak as well. It’s been tons of fun. I think Cotter got here pretty much the same time I did. So, all the new guys are amazing; obviously, to see the old faces again is awesome, too.”

The Canucks will hold a two-game prospect showcase against the Seattle Kraken in Abbotsford on September 12 and 13, then head to Penticton for training camp the following weekend. Their preseason schedule kicks off on Saturday, September 19 against the Kraken, followed by games against the Flames, Edmonton Oilers and one more against the Kraken before the official start of their season begins on Tuesday, September 29 in Edmonton.
