The Canucks continued their impressive offensive output of late with their 6-5 win over the Buffalo Sabres, improving to 3-1 over their last four games in the process. Vancouver has scored at least five goals in four of its last five games and has averaged 4.8 goals per game over that stretch.
Antoine Roussel has returned from the torn ACL injury he suffered last March with a vengeance, scoring three goals through his first two games back. Josh Leivo has also chipped in four goals in Vancouver’s last four games since scoring only two through his first 26 games this season.
In their last 10 games against opponents from the Atlantic Division, the Canucks are a perfect 10-0 per the OddsShark NHL Database.
The firing of Mike Babcock after a six-game losing streak in November gave the Maple Leafs a much-needed jolt as they went on to win their first three games under new head coach Sheldon Keefe. But since then, Toronto has lost three of its last five games, falling to 14-13-4 on the year. For a team that entered the season as a Stanley Cup favourite, this isn’t the start that the franchise had in mind.
Tuesday night’s total is set at 6.5 goals at sports betting sites. The UNDER is 5-0 in the last five games between the Maple Leafs and the Canucks.
After suffering through a 2-5-2 slump in November, the Canucks appear to be back on track with a 5-3 record over their last eight games. They have now won two straight home games and still have seven of their next nine games at Rogers Arena.
