On Saturday night, JT Miller scored the dagger as the Canucks shot out to a 3-1 lead late in the third after Miller drew a tripping penalty and wasted little time in scoring the power play goal to effectively ice the game for his squad.

As such, the Rogers Arena crowd erupted into an organic “JT Miller” chant that could even be heard on the TV broadcast. One person who certainly heard the chant was JT Miller’s daughter.

Miller’s wife Natalie posted a video on social media of the couple’s daughter reacting to an arena of over 18,000 people chanting her dad’s name, and as you’d expect, it was absolutely adorable.

“That was pretty cool,” Miller said after today’s Canucks practice. “My wife was telling me how special that was, she said she couldn’t really believe what was going on and I never thought I’d be in a situation where that would be possible, so that was a special moment for her for sure.”

While Miller has in the past said he rarely hears crowd chants and other non-on-ice-related matters (this wasn’t the first time the Rogers Arena crowd has chanted his name), he admitted that he did, in fact, hear last night’s chant.

“I heard it today,” Miller told Patrick Johnston of The Province. But honestly, I don’t know why the hell they chanted my name. I was maybe the worst f***ing player in the game.”

While it’s true that Miller wasn’t necessarily at his best for most of last night, he came through in a big moment for his team and was certainly a big reason why the Canucks took home the victory last night.

He was also a big reason — with help from the Canucks fans in attendance of course — that his daughter got to experience what will surely be a very cherished core memory on Saturday night.
