The Vancouver Canucks have lost two straight games for the first time since entering the NHL bubble. The Canucks will try to avoid a third straight loss on Wednesday night when they clash with the St. Louis Blues in Game 5.
Vancouver is a +130 underdog on the NHL odds in Edmonton at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Blues are going off as -150 favourites for Game 5 after closing as -130 favourites in Game 4.

After being shut out in Game 1 of their qualifying series against the Minnesota Wild, the Canucks went on a five-game winning streak in which they scored 4.2 goals per game including a 5-2 win and a 4-3 win to kick off this series against St. Louis. But over their last two losses, the Canucks have scored only three total goals. Vancouver is hoping to get Tyler Toffoli back at some point in this series, but he is still listed as questionable for Game 5 with a lower body injury.
The Canucks are 4-2 in their last six games as a betting underdog per the OddsShark NHL Database.
St. Louis had far and away its best game of the postseason in Game 4, dominating the tempo and outshooting the Canucks 37 to 23 en route to a 3-1 win. If not for a strong performance by Jacob Markstrom, the final score could have been a lot worse. Jake Allen wasn’t asked to do much in the win but was once again solid in net with 22 saves, improving to 2-0 since taking over the starting job from the struggling Jordan Binnington.
While the tides have seemingly turned, the Blues did get some bad news as Vladimir Tarasenko was forced to leave the bubble on Tuesday due to an injury and will not return for the remainder of this series.
Wednesday night’s total is set at 5.5 goals at online sports betting sites. The UNDER is now 4-2 in the last six games between St. Louis and Vancouver.
The Canucks responded well to having their backs against the wall against Minnesota by shaking off an 0-1 series deficit to win three straight. Can they respond with another big performance on Wednesday now that the defending champion Blues have taken over the momentum in this series?
