Canucks at Predators | OddsShark Matchup Report

What once looked like a slump has suddenly extended into a legitimately concerning skid. After opening the season with an 0-2 record, the Canucks found their groove and went 9-1-2 over their next 12 games, soaring to the top of the Pacific Division standings. But since then, Vancouver is just 1-5-2 over its last eight games, and it’s hard to say which version of the team is a more accurate representation of what to expect moving forward. The Canucks’ one win over their eight game slide came at home against Nashville, so perhaps another game against the Predators will yield a much-desired two points.
With their 6-1 loss to Dallas on Tuesday, the Canucks fell to 1-4 in their last five games on the road according to the OddsShark NHL Database.
The Nashville Predators have followed a very similar season path to the one that the Canucks have so far in 2019-20. Nashville opened its season with an 8-3-1 record through its first 12 games, but has since fallen into a 1-5-2 slump over its last eight games. That skid includes a current five-game losing streak of 0-4-1 that has some lopsided losses of 9-4 at Colorado and 7-2 at home against Chicago. The Predators are 0-3 at home in the month of November.
Thursday night’s total is set at six goals at online sports betting sites. The OVER is 10-4 in Nashville’s last 14 games against Western Conference opponents.
Both of these teams have only one win in their last eight games despite having rosters with playoff-caliber talent. There is still plenty of time in the season to turn things around, but the sooner they do so, the better their chances of making the playoffs will be. This should be a good game between two teams desperate for a win.
