The Vancouver Canucks shared injury updates for a pair of their forwards on Friday evening.
After previously ruling him out for Monday’s game against the Dallas Stars, the Canucks announced that they would re-evaluate the status of captain @Bo Horvat in two weeks.
The 27-year-old forward suffered a lower-body injury on Thursday as a result of blocking a shot by Arizona Coyotes defenceman @Anton Stralman.
Additionally, the Canucks announced that forward Nils Höglander has undergone a successful operation to address a core muscle/groin injury. At this point, there is no set timeline for when the 21-year-old Swede could return to the Canucks’ lineup.
Horvat leads the Canucks with 31 goals this season and ranks fourth on the team with 52 points in 70 games. Considering his new two-week timetable, Horvat is set to be re-evaluated on the day of the final Canucks game of the regular season.
Höglander has 10 goals and 18 points in 60 appearances this season but has not played since the Canucks took on the New Jersey Devils on March 15.
The Canucks will return to action on Monday evening when they face off against the Dallas Stars for a critical battle in the Western Conference playoff race.
