Blackhawks at Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Canucks snapped a four-game losing streak in style on Monday night, cruising to a 6-2 win over the Nashville Predators. The victory came with a strong performance on both ends of the ice as Vancouver allowed fewer than three goals for the first time in its last six games and scored more than five goals for the first time in its last 12 games. Quinn Hughes picked up three assists in the win to take over the team lead in assists with 36. The 20-year-old looks to be well on his way to becoming a Calder Trophy finalist alongside Colorado’s Cale Makar.
In 19 home games against the Blackhawks since 2011, the Canucks are 13-6 on the moneyline per the OddsShark NHL Database. That stretch includes a current run of 4-0 straight up and against the spread.
Chicago looked like it might be fighting its way back into playoff contention with an 11-4 run from mid-December through mid-January. But the Blackhawks didn’t have any room for error after a 13-16-6 start to the season, and of late they’ve cooled off significantly with a 1-3-2 record over their last six games. Through the first two games of their current five-game road trip, the Blackhawks have been outscored 10 to 5 in back-to-back losses to Winnipeg and Edmonton. The team is 15-25-6 as an underdog this season.
Wednesday night’s total is set at 6.5 goals at betting sites. The OVER is 6-0-1 in Vancouver’s last seven home games against the Blackhawks including a 7-5 win last month.
Vancouver has plenty of reason to be optimistic about this game given the team’s recent history against the Blackhawks and its strong play at home in 2019-20. This will be the Canucks’ last meeting of the year with Chicago after the home team won each of the first two games of the season series.
