The Abbotsford Canucks have released their game schedule for the 2022–23 American Hockey League regular season.
After playing 68 games along with the rest of the Pacific Division in 2021–22, the Canucks will skate in 72 games this year — a chance that aligns the Pacific with the rest of the AHL.
The Canucks will open their season on the road against the Ontario Reign on October 14. They’ll finally play their home opener on October 28 against the San Diego Gulls.
The Canucks will play 14 games — including six at the Abbotsford Centre — against the new AHL team based out of Calgary. The Flames’ AHL franchise previously operated as the Abbotsford Heat from 2009 to 2014.
Not all of the Canucks’ 36 home games will be the same. On October 29, the Canucks will face the San Diego Gulls for Diwali Night; the Canucks and Henderson Silver Knights will celebrate Country Night on November 12; and, on December 3, the Canucks will invite fans to bring stuffed animals to their game against the Laval Rocket for the Teddy Bear Toss.
The Canucks will play two games at home against the brand-new Coachella Valley Firebirds, the AHL affiliate of the Seattle Kraken. Additionally, the Canucks will host the Manitoba Moose four times and both the Toronto Marlies and Laval Rocket twice each.
