The Abbotsford Canucks have officially played their final game at Rogers Forum for the 2025–26 season.
Hosting the red-hot Coachella Valley Firebirds, the Canucks showed pushback in Game Two but ultimately couldn’t avoid the weekend sweep.
With just four games remaining on the 2025-26 schedule, they drop to a 24-37-4-3 on the season.

Game One

Friday night did not go to plan for Abbotsford.
The Canucks were held off the scoresheet, managing just 21 shots in a 2–0 loss in what was a low-event contest. The Firebirds struck once in the second period and added another in the third to seal the win.
Despite the result, Jiri Patera was excellent in his third consecutive start. The veteran netminder turned aside 28 shots, including several high-danger saves, to keep his team within striking distance.
Ultimately, a lack of offensive support proved costly.

Final score: CV 2, ABB 0

Game Two

Saturday night’s rematch told a much different story, as the Canucks provided some much-needed pushback for a thrilling home finale for the 5164 faithful listed in attendance.
After a scoreless opening period, Coachella Valley opened the scoring early in the second. Enjoying his first start in four games, Ty Young made the initial save on an Eduard Sale chance, but Carson Rehkopf capitalized on the rebound to make it 1–0.
The Canucks responded quickly. Following a dump-in, Bennett Schimek retrieved the puck along the wall, cut into the slot, and snapped home his second goal of the season — and his young professional career — to tie the game.
Moments later, that same line struck again. Schimek moved the puck to Nils Åman for a one-timer attempt that was blocked, but the rebound popped out to Ben Berard. The forward quickly shifted to his forehand and buried his team-leading 16th goal of the season.
For Schimek, the two quick points marked his fourth in three games and his second multi-point performance over that stretch.
The Firebirds found the equalizer early in the third period, with J.R. Avon finishing off another rebound chance.
Coachella Valley survived a late Canucks push, courtesy of a double-minor power play. Thanks to a strong goaltending performance by Victor Östman, this game went into overtime.
But the extra frame didn’t last long…
Just one shot into the extra frame, Tyson Jugnauth capitalized on yet another rebound to secure the 3–2 victory and complete the weekend sweep.
Despite matching the Firebirds in shots, Abbotsford came up just short in a spirited final home performance.

Team Awards

Saturday night also featured the Canucks’ annual team awards:
Rookie of the Year: Sawyer Mynio
Fan Favourite: Chase Wouters
Unsung Hero: Ben Berard
Team MVP: Ty Mueller
Mueller was not in attendance to accept the award, as he is currently with the NHL club.

What’s next?

The Canucks will wrap up their season on the road with a two-game set against the Calgary Wranglers. Puck drop is scheduled for April 10 and 11 at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
