Canucks announce plans for three-day fanfest at Rogers Arena to close out preseason

In an effort to embrace their fanbase ahead of the 2026-27 season, the Vancouver Canucks have announced plans for the team’s first-ever Fanfest. It’s a three-day celebration of hockey to launch the new season and includes a pair of home preseason games and a number of other events designed to bring fans closer to the rebuilding hockey club.

In an online announcement late Friday afternoon, the Canucks have revealed plans for the three-day festival taking place at Rogers Arena. It includes a blue carpet player entrance ahead of the team’s September 24th exhibition game against Edmonton, giving fans a chance for a photo opportunity and autographs.

Friday September 25th sees a return of an open practice for fans to attend. That is scheduled for 1:30pm. The club says ticket details will be announced at a later date. The open practice session will be followed by a meet the team event reserved for season ticket members. The night will feature a charity hockey game headlined by former Canucks with proceeds benefitting the club’s Canucks For Kids Fund. Among those already named to the rosters: Henrik Sedin, Kirk McLean, Mason Raymond and Geoff Courtnall with many more notable names to be added in short order. Admission is just $5 for adults and children under 12 get in free.

The weekend concludes with a career networking event featuring a number of Canucks executives on Saturday the 26th. This is a ticketed event. The day will also include a pre-game party on the plaza starting at noon. There will be another blue carpet arrival for players ahead of their 4pm start against the Seattle Kraken.

That contest will conclude the Canucks’ four-game preseason.

Coming off a last-place finish with just 58 points and only nine home-ice wins last season, it’s clear the hockey club recognizes it has plenty of work to do to win over the market. With regular-season ticket prices making it harder for many to experience NHL games in person, initiatives like a fanfest are a great way to give fans more opportunities to get closer to the team at a fraction of the price of game tickets. It feels like the kind of outreach a rebuilding team has to do.

The Canucks will host a two-game prospects showcase in Abbotsford on Saturday and Sunday. The team has its annual Jake Milford golf tournament on Monday at Northview Golf and Country Club, then heads to Penticton for training camp starting next Thursday at the South Okanagan Events Centre.
