It looks like the Utica Comets have trimmed their roster by one. The Utica Observer-Dispatch sent out a tweet this morning, letting us know that Anton Cederholm is on his way back to Kalamazoo of the ECHL.
Cederholm was called up on November 17th to help backfill the Comets roster during an injury-plagued stretch between then and now. Cederholm got into 12 games with the Comets to see his first action in the AHL. The defenseman didn’t put up any points, but he showed well enough during his time on the blue-line. He was also used as a forward for a few games.
With Reid Boucher and Nikolay Goldobin both back from Vancouver, along with the return of Cam Darcy, Wacey Hamilton, and Darren Archibald from injury, the Comets roster was starting to look a little bloated.
Bo Horvat is also set to return from injury very soon, which will make for an interesting decision up top. Will the Canucks waive Michael Chaput and risk losing him to another club, or will they send down Jake Virtanen, who does not require waivers? We will find out soon enough.
The Comets are back in action today at 4:00 pm Pacific when the Syracuse Crunch come to town for game number 42 of the Comets’ season. CanucksArmy will have your post-game report following the game.
