Vancouver Canucks 2025 sixth-round pick Gabe Chiarot is officially an OHL champion and headed to Kelowna, BC.
On Tuesday night, the Kitchener Rangers defeated the Barrie Colts 4-2 in Game 4 to complete a clean sweep of the OHL Final and capture the franchise’s fifth J. Ross Robertson Cup.
Following a strong Game 3, Gabe Chiarot was promoted to the team’s top line and did not disappoint.
Kitchener carried a 1-0 lead into the first intermission before Chiarot added to it in impressive fashion. After stepping into the path of a Barrie dump-in while shorthanded, Chiarot sprung himself on a clear-cut breakaway and finished the play with a slick forehand-backhand move for his fifth goal of the postseason.
Barrie responded quickly, scoring just 14 seconds later to cut the lead to one before eventually tying the game in the third period. But the Rangers answered with two goals in the final 10 minutes to secure the championship and Chiarot’s first league title.
The Canucks prospect finished the game with a goal, four shots on goal, and a plus-1 rating. He wraps up the OHL playoffs with 11 points (five goals, six assists) while finishing second among all postseason skaters with a plus-14 rating.
With the victory, Kitchener officially punches its ticket to the Memorial Cup, where it will open the tournament against Parker Alcos and the host Kelowna Rockets on Friday, May 22.

WHL Final — Prince Albert Raiders vs. Everett Silvertips

Later in the evening, Braeden Cootes and the Prince Albert Raiders dropped Game 3 of the WHL Final by a 3-2 score, falling behind 2-1 in the series against the Everett Silvertips.
For the third straight game, Everett opened the scoring midway through the first period. Prince Albert responded late in the frame thanks to Cootes, who delivered a quick-touch primary assist on the power play to find Max Heise and even the game.
The teams traded goals in the second period before Everett found the eventual game-winner late in the third to reclaim the series lead.
Cootes finished the night with a primary assist, six shots on goal, and a minus-1 rating. He now sits tied for third in WHL playoff scoring with 22 points (seven goals, 15 assists) in 18 postseason games.
Game 4 is scheduled for Wednesday at 6:30 PM PT in Prince Albert.
