It’s been a tough road for Micheal Ferland, but the journey to recovery is continuing for the often concussed man.
Ferland had taken to the ice with teammates during phase two of the return to play, and travelled with the club to Edmonton. However, Ferland only played in two games in the bubble.
The first game saw him drop the mitts with Minnesota Wild forward Marcus Foligno just over a minute into the game. He finished the game taking 20 shifts playing jut under 12 minutes.
In game two, however, he took only four shifts.
Ferland left the bubble and returned home to Manitoba, and it wasn’t exactly clear what had happened.
This year he only played in 14 games with the Canucks this year due to concussion issues that brought up questions about his future as a hockey player.
Now, TSN’s Rick Dhaliwal reported Monday that Ferland is back home trying to “keep as normal as possible” as he skates.
Vancouver signed Ferland to a four-year, $3.5-million AAV deal last year.
