After two years on the Sportsnet panel as an analyst for the Vancouver Canucks, Landon Ferraro has found a new gig.

On Tuesday morning, TSN PR announced that Ferraro will be joining the network as an analyst for the Winnipeg Jets.

Ferraro joins the Jets broadcast as a colour commentator after Kevin Sawyer left for the same role with the Calgary Flames for Sportsnet. Sawyer succeeded Kelly Hrudey, who was let go by Sportsnet earlier this offseason, as the colour commentator for the Flames.

Last season, Ferraro was a part of the Canucks’ intermission panel for home games, where he sat alongside long-time host Dan Murphy and former NHL defenceman turned rookie analyst Tyson Barrie. Ferraro co-hosted the 100% Canucks podcast with John Shannon, and also served as the colour commentator for a handful of Abbotsford Canucks games during their successful Calder Cup run in 2025.

Son of ESPN colour commentator Ray Ferraro, Landon is following in his father’s footsteps as a colour commentator now for the Jets.

During his playing days, Ferraro was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the second round (32nd overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft. Landon played 77 NHL games, scoring seven goals and five assists for 12 points. At the American League level, Ferraro scored 95 goals and 88 assists for 183 points in 354 games before heading overseas to the German DEL league from 2019-2023, before hanging up the skates and transitioning to a broadcasting career.

Ferraro will continue to bring a comedic flair to his game analysis, oftentimes with comparisons to his playing days, that will complement Jets play-by-play Dan Robertson well.

The Canadian hockey broadcasting landscape appears to be changing. According to Jonah Sigel, a sports media insider who first broke the Ferraro news, Jennifer Botterill will not be returning to Rogers Saturday Night broadcasts, and that Elliotte Friedman and Kevin Bieksa’s deals with Sportsnet expired as of August 31. That doesn’t mean Friedman and Bieksa won’t return to Sportsnet, but they are “essentially free agents.”
