The yet-to-be-named AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks will play a 68-game season in the league’s Pacific Division.
The Abbotsford team, along with the Henderson Silver Knights, will be the two teams joining that division.
In the Pacific, Abbotsford will face: the Bakersfield Condors (Edmonton Oilers affiliate), Colorado Eagles (Colorado Avalanche), Henderson Silver Knights (Vegas Golden Knights), Ontario Reign (Los Angeles Kings), San Diego Gulls (Anaheim Ducks), San Jose Barracuda (San Jose Sharks), Stockton Heat (Calgary Flames) and the Tuscon Roadrunners (Arizona Coyotes).
Teams in the AHL’s other divisions will have the option of playing either 76 or 72 game seasons. In 2022-23, the teams across the league will play a 72-game season.
In early May, the Canucks organization announced they would be moving their AHL affiliate from Utica to Abbotsford and that they would be renaming the team.
