Vancouver Canucks prospect Reid Boucher has been named to the American Hockey League’s first all-star team while Brogan Rafferty was named to the second all-star team.

Boucher, 26, has been one of the league’s most prolific scorers over recent years having scored 175 points in 154 games over the last three seasons. This year with the Utica Comets, the left-winger scored 34 goals, 33 assists and 67 points in 53 games — all career highs.

He finished second in league scoring and first in points per game notching 1.26. He put up the longest scoring streak in the AHL in a 16-game run from Nov. 23 to Dec. 31.

Boucher was originally drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the 4th round of the 2011 draft but was claimed by the Canucks on waivers in Jan. 2017.

Rafferty, 24, was just named to the AHL’s all-rookie team yesterday. The first-year defenceman scored 38 assists and 45 points in 57 games.

Signed by the Canucks in April 2019, Rafferty played for the NCAA’s Quinnipiac University where he put up 65 points in 116 games there.

He had a great performance with the Comets this year placing third among all AHL defencemen in scoring this year and topped all league rookies with 38 assists.
