After an up-and-down start to the AHL season, the Abbotsford Canucks are rolling, picking up their fifth win in a row Monday night against the Calgary Wranglers.
Abbotsford now sits in third place in the Pacific Division and has been electric since adding some NHL talent like Nils Aman, Vasily Podkolzin, and Nils Höglander
Last night was a good showing for the young talent as Aman found the back of the net twice. This pretty move ended with a snipe from the 22-year-old Swedish centre to give him his second goal of the game.

Aman has been playing with Höglander and Linus Karlsson on an all-Swedish line that has been spending a large majority of their time in the offensive zone.
Karlsson is now third in team scoring with 26 points in 30 games. Not bad for the 23-year-old in his rookie season. He also happened to assist on Nils Höglander&#8217;s second goal in two games.

Höglander is playing with some swagger and bite down in the AHL. He is shooting the puck a lot and often mixing it up after the whistle. The snarl that we liked about Höglander seems to be coming back after he seems to have lost that element of his game over the time that Bruce Boudreau has been his coach.
Here&#8217;s an example of that, as he&#8217;s mixing it up with a player who has a fight with Zdeno Chara on his resume.

The teenager has been red-hot since November 27th, tallying up 12 points in 14 games. This has been the hottest we have seen Klimovich in his young AHL career and the most exciting thing is that he is doing it all at five-on-five. The Belarussian is still not getting consistent time on the power play but instead, working hard at five-on-five and creating offence at even strength.
Monday night&#8217;s game also saw another three-point night for Christian Wolanin. It was his sixth game of the season with three or more points.
Wolanin is now up to 37 points in 30 AHL games. That puts him third in the league for AHL scoring, not just for a defenceman, but third overall for points in the AHL. He is the only AHLer with 30+ assists this season (33) and continues to be a force as the quarterback of the first power play unit.
Finally, we need to talk about the goalie.
After Collin Delia was called up and since Mikey DiPietro was traded, the crease currently belongs to Arturs Silovs.
Silovs is currently in second place for AHL wins with 13.
He is 10-1-0 over his last 11 starts and has been a rock for the Canucks over that time. The new role of starter is a great step in development for the 21-year-old goalie and he is seizing the opportunity at hand.
