The Vancouver Canucks improved to 7-0 over their last seven games at home with a 3-1 victory over the Arizona Coyotes last Thursday night. The Canucks look to continue their home dominance with a win over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday.
Vancouver is a -150 home favourite on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Sharks (+130) are 13-3 straight up in their last 16 games against the Canucks.

With their win over the Coyotes, the Canucks moved to 10-3 over their last 13 games and into third place in the Pacific Division standings. Vancouver also has two games in hand against Arizona and one game in hand against the Calgary Flames, both of whom are currently one point ahead of the Canucks for first place in the Pacific. Elias Pettersson recorded two assists in the win and continues to lead Vancouver in scoring with 21 goals, 29 assists, and 50 points so far in 2019-20.
San Jose has been a consistent thorn in Vancouver’s side in recent years as the Canucks are just 2-15 on the moneyline in their last 17 home games against the Sharks per the OddsShark NHL Database.
The Sharks wrap up a three-game road trip in Vancouver on Saturday night after losing the first two games of the trip 6-3 in Arizona and 4-0 in Colorado. San Jose is 8-13-3 on the road this season including a current slump of 2-7-2 away from home. The team’s streak of 15 straight winning seasons is in jeopardy with a current overall record of 21-24-4, and even that record could be considered a bit lucky as San Jose ranks dead last in the West in goal differential at -36 on the season. The Sharks rank 28th in goals for (2.59 per game) and 27th in goals against (3.31 per game).
Saturday night’s total is set at six goals at online sports betting sites. The UNDER is 7-2 in San Jose’s last nine games on the road.
Vancouver has its share of demons against the Sharks, making this a tougher test than it appears to be at first glance. But with the way the Canucks have been playing at home and San Jose’s recent struggles on the road, this should be a test that Vancouver can pass.
