From the sounds of it, the 2024 NHL All-Star Game will feature even more Vancouver flair.
This year&#8217;s event is taking place in Toronto from February 1 to 3 and will take on a bit of a different look than previous All-Star weekends. The revamped format includes the return of the ever-popular fantasy draft, which will see four captains (with help from a few celebrities) pick their respective teams for a 3-on-3 tournament.
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews and Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid have already been confirmed to serve as two of the All-Star captains, with pop star Justin Bieber also pencilled in as a celebrity representative.
According to Daily Faceoff&#8216;s Matt Larkin, Vancouver Canucks defenceman Quinn Hughes will also serve as an All-Star captain in Toronto next month. Hughes, 24, is in his first season as Canucks captain and has 11 goals and 53 points in 45 games with the 2023–24 Canucks.
More interestingly, Larkin also indicated that Michael Bublé will play the role of Hughes&#8217; co-captain at the event. Bublé is arguably the biggest celebrity Canucks fan there is, having shown up at countless games and in promotional materials for the team. He also owns a stake in the WHL&#8217;s Vancouver Giants.

The All-Star Game itself is slated to take place at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on February 3, capping off a weekend that will include the fantasy draft and PWHL 3-on-3 showcase on February 1, as well as the fan favourite Skills Competition on February 2.
Hughes and Bublé will be joined in Toronto by Elias Pettersson, J.T. Miller, Thatcher Demko, Brock Boeser, head coach Rick Tocchet, and, of course, Canucks mascot Fin. Pettersson has already been confirmed as one of the 12 participants in this year&#8217;s eight-event edition of All-Star Skills, the winner of which will win a $1 million cash prize.
The Canucks currently lead the NHL with a record of 30–11–4 through 45 games this season, so their heavy representation at the All-Star Game is certainly no accident. They&#8217;ll return to action on Saturday for their &#8220;Hockey Day in Canada&#8221; matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs at 4:00 p.m. PT.
