For the Canucks, this week was disappointing. The storylines are somewhat similar to last year’s in that the team is struggling to find wins, and the powerplay could use some major improvements. As of last night’s lost to Calgary, the Canucks have gone 2 for 23 on the man-advantage. Newell Brown was the architect of the Canucks’ successful powerplays back in the good ‘ol days. Let’s just hope he can channel some of that magic this season, albeit with a far different box of tools to work with.
