The Vancouver Canucks have cut six skaters from their 2022 training camp roster, general manager Patrik Allvin announced Monday afternoon.
Defenceman Jett Woo and forwards Michael Regush, Matt Alfaro, Chase Wouters, Marc Gatcomb, and Vincent Arseneau have all been assigned to the American Hockey League’s Abbotsford Canucks.
Woo is the only one of those players currently on an NHL contract; the rest attended Canucks camp on tryout agreements. With the latest round of cuts, the Canucks now have 42 players remaining at training camp.
Monday’s roster moves came after the Canucks assigned forward Carson Focht and defencemen Alex Kannok-Leipert and Quinn Schmiemann to AHL Abbotsford on Sunday.
The Canucks now have 23 forwards, 14 defencemen, and five goaltenders remaining at training camp. They’ll play their next exhibition game on Monday evening when they visit the Edmonton Oilers at 6:00 p.m. PT.
