Flames vs Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report
The Canucks played one of their best games of the season to snap out of a six-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over the Flames. Vancouver more than doubled Calgary’s shot attempts in the game with 46 shots to the Flames’ 19. And while he wasn’t asked to do much, Thatcher Demko’s one goal allowed with 18 saves was still significant considering that he and Braden Holtby had combined to allow 4.83 goals per game over the team’s six-game losing streak. The Canucks have now outshot their opponents in each of their last three games with a total of 112 shots for and 64 shots against.

Even after Saturday night’s win, the Canucks are still only 3-5 on the moneyline in their last eight home games against Calgary per the OddsShark NHL Database.
Jacob Markstrom’s phenomenal play against the Canucks continued on Saturday as the goaltender turned aside 43 of the 45 shots that he faced, but in the end he just didn’t get enough support from his offense to earn the win. Johnny Gaudreau had Calgary’s only goal in the game and he is now the team’s sole leading scorer with eight goals and seven assists. Calgary still has four games in hand on Vancouver but saw its lead in the standings shrink from three points to one with Saturday’s loss.
Monday night’s total is set at six goals at online betting sites. The UNDER is 4-0 in Vancouver’s last four games.

Vancouver had been taking strides in the right direction in recent games and it finally paid off with a win on Saturday. But the Canucks still have a long way to go to get back into playoff contention in the highly competitive North Division. Another win on Monday night would be a good start.
