The Canucks put together a solid effort on Monday night in their final game against the Toronto Maple Leafs as they outshot the Maple Leafs 32-19 and entered the third period with the game tied at 1-1. But goaltending was the difference as Frederik Andersen turned aside 31 of the 32 shots that he faced while Braden Holtby made only 16 saves in Toronto’s 3-1 win at home. The Canucks have now been outscored 26-10 over their current five-game losing streak which consists of two road losses in Montreal and three road losses in Toronto.

In their last 11 games as a betting underdog at home, the Canucks are 9-2 per the OddsShark NHL Database. Those two losses over that stretch came in their last two games as a home underdog this season.
Like the Canucks, Calgary has been better at home this season with a record of 4-2 than it has been on the road with a record of 2-3-1. The Flames enter this three-game road trip against the Canucks on a two-game winning streak after defeating the Edmonton Oilers 6-4 on Saturday and the Winnipeg Jets 3-2 on Tuesday. Jacob Markstrom has been rock solid in goal for the Flames this season with a 6-3-1 record to go along with a 2.50 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage.
Thursday night’s total is set at 6.5 goals at betting sites. The OVER is 10-4 in Vancouver’s last 14 games against Calgary.
