Cory HergottFor the second time in the last week, the Utica Comets have signed goaltender Mitch Gillam to a PTO.
Last week Gillam was signed to a PTO to back up Richard Bachman because Thatcher Demko was under the weather. There is no indication yet from the Comets as to why the Gillam signing was necessary this time around, but Utica plays today at 4:00 pm Pacific, so we won’t have to wait long to find out which Comets goaltender is banged up, or sick.
* Edit * I did reach out to Rick Dhaliwal of News 1130 Sports to see if he could find out what was up, and after doing some checking around, it appears that Thatcher Demko may have a minor injury.
