The Canucks stood pat for the most part on trade deadline day, but they did make one minor deal, swapping minor-league goaltender Zane McIntyre to the New Jersey Devils for G Louis Domingue.
The Province’s Patrick Johnston was the first one on the case, reporting that Jacob Markstrom had missed practice today. Within a half an hour, Johnston was back with all the details, reporting that the Canucks had targeted Domingue as insurance after Markstrom was sidelined with a knee injury.

In his post-deadline press conference, Jim Benning indicated that Markstrom could be out 3-4 weeks, but that the timeline wasn’t set yet. There were whispers on Twitter that Markstrom had suffered a torn meniscus, which can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months depending on whether which route doctors choose to take.
MacIntyre has posted a .894 save percentage through 24 games for the Utica Comets. Domingue had split time between the AHL and NHL this season, posting a .882 save percentage with the Devils and a .912 save percentage with Binghampton. He is expected to back up Thatcher Demko tomorrow night in Montreal.
