Canucks Player Power Rankings – Feb 9th, 2015
alt
Grainne Downey
Feb 9, 2015, 15:34 ESTUpdated:
Nothing goes together quite like fathers and bad jokes and today’s power rankings has an abundance of both.
1. Alex Burrows
Burrows showed off a new talent this week – he is awesome at making conversation with members of the Winnipeg Jets. Kane for Burrows, anyone?
2. Daniel Sedin
The Canucks scored power play goals against Pittsburgh! Important powerplay goals!
3. Radim Vrbata
500 NHL points and the victim of some mild identity theft:
4. Henrik Sedin
As the Canucks’ Fathers Trip is this week, it seems a good time to bring up the fact that in a recent interview with Sportsnet magazine, Henrik and Daniel revealed that they are the meanest dads ever
5. Alex Edler
For his sake, Canucks fans should stop suggesting that Edler is the team’s MVP this season. Watch him avoid the camera during a team photoshoot. Any excess recognition may kill him.

6. Bo Horvat
Talk about a teenage dream.
7. Jannik and Bent Hansen
Jannik Hansen’s dad’s name is Bent.
8. Ryan Miller
Thankfully, Ryan waited until this weekend to shutout Sidney Crosby at Rogers Arena.
9. Dan Hamhuis
Facing one’s former team can be difficult but Dan handled the adversity well:
10. Ryan Stanton
Ryan Stanton has had a rather rough year but he kept Ryan Miller’s shutout alive with his heroic removal of the Canucks’ net on Saturday night.
11. Zack Kassian
Goatee? Check. Weird magic hands? Check. Scoring? Check. Zack Kassian’s transition into a Sedin may finally be starting.

12. Chris Tanev
Tanev is out with a suspected concussion but shots at his hair are still acceptable in my opinion:
13. Eddie Lack
He’d be top 10 if he said, “and in March, we have to go on a California roll, guys.”
14. Shawn Matthias
The largest and heaviest Canuck is scoring goals, winning hearts, and almost fighting teammates that stand at 5’11”
15. Adam Clendening
Clendening has been a nice addition to the Canucks’ 2nd powerplay unit but his loyalties wavered when he came across fellow former Boston University Terrier Matt Nieto.

16. Nick Bonino
Nick Bonino finally scored a goal for the team that drafted him! Unfortunately he was drafted by the San Jose Sharks and he currently plays for the team that they beat handily on Thursday.
17. Derek Dorsett
Dors the Force is not as bad as Tanner Glass!
18. Luca Sbisa
On top of his OT winner, Luca filled in for the fallen Tanev on the Canucks’ top pairing and got to star in the Canucks TV version of Cribs.
19. Linden Vey
Linden was the recipientient of the strangest celebratory head pat I’ve seen in a long time
20. Yannick Weber
Wrong-First-Name All-Star Team update: Yannick “No, not Shea” Weber avoided Evander “No, not Patrick” Kane on Tuesday but did face Barclay “No, not Johnny” Goodrow when the Sharks were in town.
21. Chris Higgins
To be honest I forgot about Higgins and I feel bad and I hope he scores more goals soon.
22. Kevin Bieksa
Injured Kevin has been keeping busy by pressing block buttons and keeping score at his son’s hockey games
