Canucks Player Power Rankings – April 20th, 2015

Apr 20, 2015, 21:00 EDTUpdated:

The 44 year old Vancouver Canucks franchise played two good games this week and a bad game this week but are down by a game to 18 year old Sam Bennett and his Calgary Flames. You might even say that Vancouver is getting blazed! Or something. Cause it’s 4/20 and they’re playing against the Flames. No? Ok.
1. Daniel Sedin:
34 year old Daniel Sedin has played very well in this series, though not nearly enough. Also, I like to imagine that the “GREAT JOB, SBIS!” at 2:17 of this video is sarcastic. Stay mean, Danne.
2. Henrik Sedin:
Also 34 years old, Henrik’s play has been almost as good as his self-deprecating humour:
3. Eddie Lack:
Hopefully the 4-1 loss to the Flames doesn’t weigh too heavily on 27 year old goaltender. Eddie will hopefully spend his day off trying to figure out what exactly this bird man is.

4. Alex Edler:
Alex Edler, who turns 29 tomorrow, did not look spectacular in game 3 but was far and away the best skater on Friday night, demolishing Seanny Hockey, Johnny Hockey, and Sammy Hammy.

5. Bo Horvat:
20 year old Horvat has strung together 3 pretty great playoff outings, despite the fact that he doesn’t seem even close to appearing on Hockey Night’s rookie radar. Regardless, his first playoff goal celebration was awesome.
6. Chris Tanev:
Chris Tanev, like his partner, did not have a signature night on Sunday, but was his usual self in games 1 and 2. An interesting thing about Tanev’s usual self is that he’s pretty chill about aliens but not chill about probing.
7. Rony Hockey:
Ronalds Kenins scored his first playoff goal and Latvia was really excited! The best thing about Ronalds is that his last name translates into “King” when Google tries to turn Latvian into English:

8. Dan Hamhuis:
Dan Hamhuis has become public enemy #1 for Flames fans, which is fun to watch. Look at that face!

9. Michael Ferland’s Mother:
The entire world and the aliens that might abduct Chris Tanev are sick of hearing this guy’s name, but his mom seems pretty cool, so I’ve included her.
10. Yannick Weber:
Yannick Weber probably will not participate in 4/20 activities like smoking weed but yesterday he participated in 4/19 activities like smoking Sam Bennett.
11. Alex Burrows:
Burrows kept it pretty zen before the series started. Keyword: before.
12. Chris Higgins:
Chris Higgins was happy to score a power play goal, but his beard was super excited cause it thinks it’s in mid-June.
13. Jannik Hansen:
Jannik Hansen has a mind for coaching but a voice for something that doesn’t involve talking very often.
14. Shawn Matthias:
Shawn Matthias became the third Canuck in this series to score his first NHL playoff goal! Nice job, Shawn.
15. Radim Vrbata:
Radim has looked less Vrbata and more Vrbad so far this post-season. The suit says “suave assassin” but the eyes say “fearful and small man”.

16. Nick Bonino:
Things can’t be going great when you’re getting burned in the form of a Raffi song.
17. Brad Richardson:
It is nice to see Richardson finally back in action and he’s been okay so far. Look at his tiny claw hand:

18. Derek Dorsett:
Derek Dorsett fought Deryk Engelland, which is so weird cause I’m pretty sure Dorset is part of England…
19. Ryan Miller:
Maybe Ryan Miller was telling Ferland that he’s got a stain on his jersey.
20. Linden Vey and Ryan Stanton:
Vey and Stanton are supporting their funny friends while they await the opportunity to slot into the line-up. (side note: is Bo Horvat okay?)

via
21. Zack Kassian:
Buddy, where you at?
22. Luca Sbisa and Kevin Bieksa:
Despite all common sense, I’ve put Bieksa and Sbisa together this week. Canucks fans have a lot to look forward to if Sbieksa continues to be a thing.
