With over half the season in the books, it’s time to take a quick look back at how each individual player on the Canucks has performed so far. Read past the jump for Canucks Army’s player grades for the season up to January 31st, 2015.

Defensemen

  • His offence has atrophied a bit, but Edler has been an absolute rock at even strength and a beast on the penalty kill. His -39 of last season is but a distant memory.
  • Among the very best penalty killing D in the game today, Chris Tanev (and Chris Tanev’s agent) must be the happiest man in the world that fancystats are now permissible in arbitration hearings. Tanev also leads all Canucks in War-on-ice’s version of scoring chance differential at +30.
  • Between a groin injury and on-ice struggles, Dan Hamhuis has had a down year for sure. Being walked on a couple of different occasions recently is very concerning considering his health, but he’s still one of Vancouver’s better blueliners.
  • Weber hasn’t been blessed with good teammates, but has produced at a good clip for a bottom pairing guy. All in all, a fairly solid season for a number 6/7 guy.
  • *Looks at Corsi* *Looks at OZS%* Well, at least Stanton is on the last year of a league minimum ELC deal, and won’t require $1m+ to quality in the offseason.
