Just when you think this site can’t get any more negative, we find a way to outdo ourselves with a title like that! No, but seriously. Today, the Vancouver Canucks broke away from drills and put teams blue and white against each other in a public scrimmage. It was a hard fought game, but ultimately, team white found themselves to be victorious, winning 4-3 in a shootout.
The Teams
Team White consisted of:
Guillaume Brisebois, Joe Cannata, Cole Cassels, Frank Corrado, Anton Cederholm, Derek Dorsett, Travis Ehrhardt, Taylor Fedun, Dane Fox, Alex Friesen, Ben Hutton, Ronalds Kenins, Joseph Labate, Jacob Markstrom, Jared McCann, Tate Olson, Kyle Petit, Hunter Shinkaruk, Jordan Subban, Linden Vey, Jake Virtanen, and Mike Zalewski
Team Blue consisted of:
Richard Bachman, Sven Baertschi, Carter Bancks, Matt Bartkowski, Alex Biega, Adam Cracknell, Brendan Gaunce, Alex Grenier, Wacey Hamilton, Janik Hansen, Nicklas Jensen, Blair Jones, John Kurtz, Evan McEneny, Ryan Miller, John Negrin, Carl Neill, Anthony Pedan, Ashton Sautner, Luca Sbisa, Mackenze Stewart, and Dmitry Zhukenov
The Events
The game stayed scoreless until midway through the second period, at which point Team White picked up a quick two-goal lead thanks to goals from Hunter Shinkaruk and Alex Friesen. It didn’t stay that way very long, however, as blue responded with a pair of their own – first from Brendan Gaunce, followed by Mackenze Stewart to leave things equal after 34 minutes (the teams played 17 minute periods).
For the last six minutes of the game, the Canucks decided to play some three-on-three. Friesen made the most of it, and appeared to play hero..
FRIESEN! 3-2 Team White.

It didn’t last, though. Blair Jones tied the game up with a minute to go, sending it to overtime, where the teams remained groups of trios. Nobody was able to convert their rushes into goals, however, so the game headed to a shootout. In the skills competition, Linden Vey picked up the game winner to send the Canucks home happy, and the Canucks home sad.
Other Events
This game wasn’t actually streamed or broadcasted anywhere, so unless the Canucks upload more footage, we can say anything happened, right? Sounds good.
Jim Benning just came to centre ice and said that the next goaltender to let in a goal gets traded.

Scary turn of events, as John Tortorella shows up with a clock and demands to coach Team White.
