The 2023 trade deadline has come and gone, and the Vancouver Canucks made a number of moves dating back to the late January trade that sent <a href="https://canucksarmy.com/news/canucks-trade-bo-horvat-new-york-islanders-beauvillier-raty-first-round-pick">Bo Horvat to the New York Islanders</a>. 
The Canucks’ most controversial move of the deadline among fans was undoubtedly the <a href="https://canucksarmy.com/news/canucks-trade-1st-2nd-round-pick-defenceman-filip-hronek">club’s acquisition of Filip Hronek</a>. While some loathed the deal because they viewed it as a Benning-esque shortcut, others are excited about the club adding what they believe to be a legitimate top four defenceman.

The club added to their salary cap commitments for next season, and are going all-in with their retool plan. A lot of people responded to the question by saying it&#8217;s hard to grade the club&#8217;s deadline until we see how Hronek performs as a Canuck, and ultimately, whether or not they can make the playoffs next season.
Until then, we&#8217;re going to go with a C, with the potential to turn into a B. That is, of course, unless the Canucks win the Stanley Cup off the back of Filip Hronek&#8217;s strong play in the postseason, then this deadline is an A+ and we&#8217;re all a bunch of dummies &#8212; except for the eight voters across all platforms that said this deadline was an A, of course.
