Canadian Hockey League

• Carl Neill remains the top-point getter amongst Vancouver’s Major Junior prospects.  In three games this week, he scored a goal, added two assists, went +1 and landed four shots on net.
• Dimitri Zhukenov continues to find success despite his team not being the best.  He played in two games this week, earning an assist and a shot on goal. He did, unfortunately, have a -1 rating.
• Tate Olson had a busy week, playing in four games. He picked up two points, was a +2, and had 5 PIMs.
• Thanks to a lessened role, Kyle Pettit has cooled off from his hot start. This week, he played three games, earning an assist, taking six shots on goal, and had a +2 rating.  
• Guillaume Brisebois’ early-season struggles continue, though his team hasn’t exactly helped him. He’s finally earned his first point, scoring a goal (on the powerplay)!  In three games this week he also went -5 and took nine shots.  Thanks to @jeremydavis89 you can see Guillaume’s first goal here!
• If Jake Virtanen is sent back to the Calgary Hitman, he will be named to WHL’s team for the Canada/Russia series.
  

NCAA

• The University of North Dakota had a decent week. They faced Bemidji State twice, tying the first game 4-4 and winning the second one 5-2.  Brock Boeser played in both games. He had a hat trick in one game, had a +3 rating and took five shots on goal.  He continues to lead the team in shots on goal and is chasing for the lead in points.  Currently leading the team in points is Senior Free-agent Drake Caggiula, someone that /r/Canucks has discussed as a potential Canucks target.
• Northeastern had a weird week. They dominated Bentley in shot possession, well over 80%, but they weren’t able to beat them in either game against each other. Adam Gaudette was a -2 with three shots on goal in those two games. I was at one of those games and wrote about my experience.
• Penn State played Notre Dame twice this week losing the first one 7-4 and winning the second one 5-3. Mike Williamson skated in both games, took four shots on goal, had a -3 rating and took 2 PIMs.
• Matthew Beattie and Yale still have not started their season. So yeah, not everybody has played. Sorry! He’ll be on the ice soon, I promise.

• Boston College played one game this week against Wisconsin, where Thatcher Demko earned his first shutout of the year stopping 20 of 20 shots. His .958 has Demko tied for the 7th best goaltender in the NCAA. 

Europe

• Nikita Tryamkin played three games this past week, picking up an assist and taking a single shot on goal in a total of 50 minutes of playing time.
• Lucas Jasek didn’t play a game this week, nor did his team, HC Trinec. According to Czech Hockey “Insiderrr” @the_hockeyninja, Jasek’s slow start isn’t worth stressing over. Czech rosters are much larger than North America, and players can freely choose which league in their club’s system they wish to play for. With Trinec projected to be a top-3 team in the Extraliga, it shouldn’t be expected that he play more than nine minutes a night. Perhaps the CHL Import Draft route might have been better for his development, as our own JD Burke has theorized in the past.

ECHL

• Ludwig Blomstrand is the leading Canucks ECHL prospect in scoring! Though, its a very slight lead; he has one assist and two shots on goal in two games. He’s also a -3.
• Dane Fox is 2nd in ECHL scoring! That means, well, that he’s pointless. He does have five shots on goal, though.
• Anton Cederholm was sent down to the ECHL to Kalamazoo from Utica, though he’s yet to play his first game with the Wings. The organization is probably hoping that the increased role will be a confidence booster for him.
• News 1130 Sports reported this week that Curtis Valk is in Vancouver for a checkup and a continuation of rehab. He should be back on competitive ice in 3-4 weeks. It’s likely that Valk will start with the Wings to get himself up to speed, before making the jump back to the Comets.
