CANUCKS ARMY GDT# 64 – CANUCKS @ SHARKS

By Always90four
Mar 5, 2016, 14:15 ESTUpdated:

Yes, for the third time this week, the Canucks play the Sharks but this time it’s a change of scenery and the series heads to the tank. The Sharks have taken the first two games but there’s nothing that says Vancouver can’t win this one. Its Hockey Night in Canada…it’s the Canucks…and the Sharks….Oh baby it’s gonna be a good one. (Bob Cole would have liked that)

LINE COMBOS
Well, it’s safe to say Emerson Etem is not very good on the top line. Jake Virtanen should get his chance soon again on that line because well, he makes every line better. Brendan Gaunce is back and showed some promise with Bo Horvat last game. Man oh man is Alex Burrows struggling. He needs a hug, a goal hug.
Ryan Miller definitely wants to redeem himself after last game’s awful calls. He should start.

Joe Thornton is having a great season and his beard is having an even better year! There isn’t a beard that rivals his on the Canucks and that may play a factor tonight.
James “Optimus” Reimer will start for San Jose. It’s his first ever game as a Shark and if he plays like a Leaf, the Canucks could take this one.

REASONS TO WATCH THIS GAME
- Third times a charm for the Canucks. They can beat this Sharks team but it wouldn’t hurt having a bit of puck luck go their way. Ryan Miller was none too pleased about the “high stick” goal by Tomas Hertl. It really was BS.
- Sven Baertschi got back onto the scoresheet last game. His last tally was Feb 18 vs. the Ducks. Putting that Virtanen/Horvat/Bae line back together might be a good idea, just saying.
- As of right now, Ben Hutton is our favorite defenseman and he’s quietly put up 1G and 18A. He’ll be a fixture on the back end for years and Nikita Tryamkin could end up being his D partner. Ben Hutton has been such a welcome addition this year and when he’s on the ice, I feel safer. I can’t explain it but I just do. Thank you Ben.
- Vancouver is following a unique L,L,L,W,W pattern and tonight would be the first of two straight W’s. I’m not saying, I’m just saying
- Henrik Sedin is an impressive individual. He’s averaging 2.1 assists/game http://war-on-ice.com/playerseason.html?name1=Henrik0Sedinthis year and has a 58.1 CF% in all situations, score adjusted. One day, he’ll be gone; enjoy him while you can.

MY TAKE
Normally a HNIC game would have me excited that the Canucks can win; the Sharks are owning the Canucks so that may not happen. I’m going out on a limb though and calling a Canucks victory is my designation.
