The Canadian Hockey League comprising of the WHL, OHL and QMJHL shut down its regular seasons on Wednesday.

The shutdown started out east with the QMJHL, with the WHL and OHL following suit not long after.

The shutdown affects a couple of Canuck prospects.

In the WHL, two prospects playing for the Calgary Hitmen had their regular seasons come to an end. F Carson Focht finished his year with 32 goals and 56 points in 61 games, while rearguard Jett Woo had 39 assists and 46 points in 64 games. Focht, 20, will turn pro next year, while Woo has one more year of junior eligibility.

Moving east, in the OHL, Flint Firebirds Ethan Keppen scored 16 goals and 29 assists in 41 games this season. Goaltender Arturs Silovs played in 36 games for the Barrie Colts posting a .891 save percentage and a 3.87 GAA to go along with a 16-13-2-2 record. Silovs, 18, has two years of junior eligibility left.

It’s not yet known the fate of the CHL’s playoffs.
