CA MONDAY MAILBAG: FEBRUARY 15

Jeffler isn’t here for this week, so I’ve got your Monday Mailbag needs covered in the interim. We assume he ran off to New York to pursue his dream of finally partaking in Fashion Week. So with that, they trusted me with the coveted mailbag, and I cannot wait to butcher every single one of these answers. Let’s do this
I’ve been fired like, 500 times. But I just keep coming back. I’m George Costanza.
As CraftBeer Guy mentions, the Provies went in-depth on the seemingly strained relationship between the higher-ups and management. Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet dove into this as well during the Hockey Night in Canada broadcast on Saturday. It’s not good optics for this team, as most of the fanbase will be siding with the new management regime. A rebuild has been longed for by the fans and most assumed it was Benning/Linden that wanted to ice a playoff team. It seems it’s quite the opposite, and it’s the Aquilini’s that are pushing for that.
I don’t think they are going to answer questions on it, though. They’ll try and let the dust settle on this situation and then go from there. The worst thing they can do is make a rash change of direction here and answering questions will just be them spinning tires. Our own Tyler Horsfall outlined in October the potential of the Aquilini’s selling, and it will provide more insight into this topic.

Well since he can’t do the lame cop-out of swapping numbers (some guy named Markus Naslund has it retired in Vancouver) he’s going to have to get creative. Maybe be the first person to wear 96 since the Russian Rocket wore it for the Canucks. McCann was born in 1996, and it would be cool to see someone wear it again. If not 96, why not be the guy that wears 98 because you can’t wear 99. Looking at you, Brian Lawton.

Based off the information that I got from Nation Network member NHLNumbers, it’s Henrik and Daniel Sedin with 7 million each. That information courtesy of NHLNumbers, proud member of the Nation Network. NHLNumbers!

“Is there any way we can fix this god forsaken team”
Yes, just burn it down. Keep the prospects, let the Sedins ride into the sunset as Canucks. Other than that, mortgage it out for prospects and picks. Don’t let the Aquilini’s turn this into a playoff team. It’s not a playoff team.
If all else fails.
Cry.
