The Vancouver Canucks are 7-3 in their last 10 home games against the Boston Bruins. The Canucks hope to keep this trend alive with another home win over the Bruins on Saturday night.
Vancouver is a +120 home underdog on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Boston (-140) is 6-1 in its last seven games on the road.
Bruins at Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report
The Canucks fell to the Minnesota Wild 4-3 in a shootout on Wednesday night, dropping to 2-4-2 over their last eight games. J.T. Miller scored two goals in regulation and one in the shootout, but Jacob Markstrom got beaten on all three of Minnesota’s shootout attempts to seal the loss for Vancouver. Despite the loss, the Canucks are now two points ahead of both the Calgary Flames and the Arizona Coyotes for third place in the Pacific Division, with two games in hand over Calgary and four over Arizona heading into Saturday night.
In their last six games as a betting underdog at home, the Canucks are 6-0 per the OddsShark NHL Database. This will be Vancouver’s first instance as a home underdog since January 27 against the St. Louis Blues.
Boston will be playing its second game of a back-to-back on Saturday after defeating Calgary 4-3 on Friday night. The Bruins have played in four back-to-back spots over their current 11-1-0 run and have gone 3-1 in their last four instances playing the second game of the back-to-back. The team’s only loss over its last 12 games came in the most unlikely of places at the hands of the Detroit Red Wings. Detroit has the NHL’s worst record by a wide margin at 15-44-34 while Boston has the league’s best record at 39-11-12.
Saturday’s total is set at 5.5 goals at online betting sites. The UNDER is 5-1 in Boston’s last six games.
These two teams are trending in the opposite direction with Boston steamrolling through its schedule of late and the Canucks losing six of their last eight games. Vancouver got crushed 4-0 in its road game against Boston earlier this month and would love to exact some revenge on its home ice in this one.
