You read the title. This is the final Blackfish prospects report for the 2022-23 season.
Many of the prospects will be wrapping up their playoffs in the next two weeks and we will focus our attention on bringing updates for them in their own articles.
The AHL playoffs will feature a lot of prospects playing in big games and we will have you covered here at CanucksArmy with Cody Severtson and myself going into overdrive for AHL playoff coverage.
It&#8217;s been a blast putting together this article every week and testing out the video element over the past few weeks as well. I hope you&#8217;ve enjoyed this series and we will surely be back next season doing the exact same thing.
That said, we have one final week to recap here at the Blackfish Vancouver Canucks Prospect Report, so, let&#8217;s dive in and see about the week that was for the prospects.
<h1>OHL Playoffs</h1>
New prospect Josh Bloom is off to the second round of the OHL playoffs after a 5-4 win over the Mississauga Steelheads on Sunday. Bloom&#8217;s North Bay Battalion won their opening-round series in six games with their win on Sunday night. We now await to see who comes out of the Hamilton-Barrie series.
Connor Lockhart&#8217;s Peterborough Petes swept their opening-round series and will also wait to see who their opponent is.
If Hamilton ends up winning the series, Bloom and Lockhart will matchup in the OHL&#8217;s Eastern Conference semifinals and that should make for a very entertaining watch for those who care about Canucks prospects.
Let&#8217;s look back at some highlights from the two OHL prospects.
Bloom had one goal and two assists over four games this past week. His goal was a great release from the slot.

The defending was definitely poor but the shot looked great.
We will spend some time in the offseason diving more into Bloom&#8217;s game. We think he&#8217;s in the mix to be a top-10 prospect for the Canucks.

We should have a Canucks prospect fighting late into the OHL playoffs and potentially getting to the final with a chance to get to the Memorial Cup. We will be following along with this storyline.
<h1>Sweden always gets its own heading</h1>
We will begin with Jonathan Lekkerimäki.
The 18-year-old winger is not on a three-game point streak and is on the verge of moving on to the third round of the Allsvenskan playoffs. His team is up 3-2 in the second-round series and Lekkerimäki has been a solid contributor &#8212; he has one goal and three assists over the four games he played in this past week.
We want to show one of the assists and the goal as well.
The assist was a nice saucer pass to send in his teammate on a breakaway.

The goal was exactly why we liked Lekkerimäki in our pre-draft evaluations.
He has the confidence in this clip to demand the puck, pick up speed through the neutral zone and then score a goal-scorers goal with a wicked shot.

All good stuff lately from the kid.
A player who&#8217;s not had all good stuff lately is Elias Pettersson (D-Petey).
There&#8217;s not much of an update here as D-Petey has not played over his last two SHL playoff games. He has dressed for both games but has just not gotten a shift.
D-Petey&#8217;s J20 season is over so now he is just rocking with the SHL team and hoping that some ice time presents itself over the next few games. His team won the first two games of the series but last lost three games in a row and now trails 3-2 in the SHL semifinals.
Filip Johansson&#8217;s SHL season is over. His team was eliminated from the playoffs on Monday.
Johansson had a beautiful backdoor pass to set up a goal in what should be his final SHL game before coming to North America.

It&#8217;s now time to focus on making the jump to North America. We expect to see Johansson her next season and be battling for a spot on the third pairing. It&#8217;s likely that he ends up in Abbotsford to start the season but no matter the case, it&#8217;s good to see a right-shot defenceman be added to the organization.
<h1>AHL Update</h1>
The Abbotsford Canucks had a pair of games this past week &#8212; both at home against the Ontario Reign.
We will start with Danila Klimovich, who picked up a goal on Saturday in Abbotsford&#8217;s 2-1 loss to the Reign.

Klimovich remains in the top-50 for plus/minus and will be relied upon for depth scoring in the playoffs.
Jett Woo continues to stay hot. He scored another goal on Friday, which gave him a three-game goal-scoring streak and brought his season total up to seven goals on the season &#8212; matching his goal total from his final season in the WHL. His goal on Friday was a big one, as he won the game just 22 seconds into overtime.

Karlsson is sixth in goals from a rookie this season in the AHL and is the only Abbotsford Canuck to play in all 69 games this season.
It&#8217;s been a nice beginning for Karlsson in North America.
Arturs Silovs had one start this past week, he won 4-3 in overtime and stopped 31 of the 34 shots he faced.
There&#8217;s an argument for both Silovs and Spencer Martin to be the starter for the Abbotsford Canucks in the playoffs. Abbotsford plays their final midweek game on Wednesday and that game may be an indicator of who is going to get the call for the first game of the AHL playoffs.
