Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!
The Canucks started their seven game road trip with a disappointing 2-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues. Conor Garland opened the scoring early, but that’s all the offence the Canucks could get past Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington.
Next up for the Canucks is a visit to New Jersey, or in other words, the second edition of the (Luke, not Jack) Hughes bowl this season. Here are three bets I like for tonight’s game.
Player Prop
Jesper Bratt to register ove 3.5 shots at +130. My $10 bet would return $23.
Bratt is enjoying himself a phenomenal season with 43 points in 39 games — a 90-point pace over a full 82 game season. That total would shatter his current career high in points.
He has also been on a shooting tear of late, hitting his over 3.5 in his last three games and tallying 17 shots in that span, an average of 5.66 per game.
Take this play at .8 units.
Player Prop
Quinn Hughes to register an assist at -143. My $12.50 bet would return $21.38.
I don’t have to explain to you why this is a matchup where the Canucks’ captain usually brings his A-game, and the numbers back it up. Hughes has tallied four assists in his last four matchups with the Devils, and I like him to get another tonight.
I like this as a full unit play.
Main Markets
Both teams to combine for over 6.5 goals at -125. My $10 bet would return $18.
We took the over in these two teams’ matchup a month ago, and they combined for 11 goals. These two teams just love having high-scoring games, as the over 6.5 has hit in their last five matchups. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Take this play at .8 units.
Last Game Bets
Pavel Buchnevich to register over 2.5 shots at -150. My $12.50 bet would return $20.83. – MISSED
Brock Boeser to score anytime at +140. My $10 bet would return $24. – MISSED
Some bad reads by me here, we lost every bet on the night. We are now up $152.2o on the season.
