Babych Please – November 3rd, 2017

The Canucks had a busy week filled with pumpkin carving, Halloween celebrations, and scoring exactly one goal.
- The Canucks and Derek Toye teamed up for another adorable illustration on Monday, this time featuring a Canucks version of the Stranger Things poster. I love these collaborations so much.
I was asked to decide who was who on the poster and I will do so.
I’ve never seen Stranger Things but literally every person I know watches it and loves it so this is what I know about the characters:
- Eleven: the main character, has a shaved head, gets nosebleeds, eats waffles, maybe an alien?
- Finn Wolfhard: don’t know the character’s name but the actor seems like a good kid and is pretty funny on Twitter, has a mushroom cut
- Will: Winona Ryder’s missing son
- Lucas: I want to say he’s the smart one?
- There’s a kid with great hair that is also pretty funny on Twitter!
- Barb: died?
- Steve: my friends are all super into him, he’s dating Barb’s best friend (who might be Winona Ryder’s daughter??), has impressive hair
- Winona Ryder: is missing her son (Will), set up the Christmas light alphabet thing
I think that there are at least two more kids involved and I’m not sure who is depicted on the poster. I could look it up pretty easily but that’s less fun so I’m just going with this.
- Ben Hutton: The one with fun hair!
- Bo Horvat: Eleven because he has short hair, he’s a leader, he’s probably has had a nosebleed at some point, and he probably likes waffles
- Brock Boeser: Will because he was hurt when the poster was published and we (Vancouver) were all Winona Ryder, waiting for our son to return.
- Jake Virtanen: Finn Wolfhard because I’m almost positive he’s one of the kids on the poster and Virtanen is a Finnish name (this is definitely the worst reasoning possible)
I’m sorry for being terrible at Stranger Things opinions!
- Bo Horvat dressed his French Bulldog, Gus, up as a hot dog for Halloween. Hot Dog Horvat!

- Sam Gagner and some of his defenceman friends headed over to Canuck Place this week for the annual pumpkin carving event. There was some seriously impressive carving going on, especially from pumpkin-carving rookie Michael Del Zotto.

- The Canucks wore some good costumes this Halloween. I love the Baertschis going as the Bear Cheese. Major props to Jake Virtanen on his DJ MDZ get-up. Tanev and Granlund’s costumes were also excellent.
When the #Canucks Halloween, they really Halloween!! (🐻🧀🤣)
@Jake_Virtanen doing his best impression of me. #teamhalloweenshaker
- Former Canuck Nick Bonino and his wife Lauren dressed up as autograph hunters and asked the Predators to sign their stuff. It’s definitely worth a watch.
@NickBonino and his wife Lauren took it too a level that every athlete would understand and appreciate! Just genius! 😂☝🏿 #seekers👀@predsnhl
- This Canucks Halloween costume is so good. I have nothing else to say about it it’s just so good.
The perfect #Canucks #Halloween costume doesn’t exis- NAILED IT!
- The annual Sports Celebrities Festival was last night and Bo Horvat and Brock Boeser used it as an excuse to hone their Snapchat skills.
